Keynote & Featured Speaker: Andrew Milne
Where are you from? Chicago suburbs, Illinois via London, England
Current Teaching location and assignment: Health and Kinetic Wellness teacher at New Trier High School
Past Awards, Kudos or things you are proud of! In a rewarding 23 years of teaching my most recent award was the SHAPE America National Health Education Teacher of the Year award for 2017.
Current or Past leadership Positions held: Most recently I served as the Health rep for IAHPERD (3 years).
What are you passionate about? Teaching. Teaching health. Teaching health to students so that they can lead a healthy life and create opportunities for others to lead healthy lifestyles also.
What do you hope to accomplish in the next year? This year is my biggest in terms of keynote presentations (in four states) plus speaking at a TEDx event. I hope to start writing a book in 2020.
Something unusual about you: I have taught or coached on four continents (Europe, Africa, N.America, Australasia).

Current or Past leadership Positions held: past MAPEC (Maryland adapted physical education consortium) VP, past board member of SHAPE MD (previously MAHPERD).
What are you passionate about? Opening people’s eyes to look past perceived “limitations” and to see actual abilities. To help people understand the importance of presuming competence and believing that everyone CAN!
What do you hope to accomplish in the next year? Continue growing my program and giving my students a voice and a platform to succeed.
Something unusual about you: I actually dropped out of student teaching and was going to turn my back on the profession and not actually teach.

Current or Past leadership Positions held: Past-President of PSAHPERD, I am on the SHAPE America Health Council.
What are you passionate about? I am passionate about sharing with and learning from other teachers so that we can all be the best teachers out there. I also love playing roller derby.
What do you hope to accomplish in the next year? Release a free library of skills-based health education lesson plans through OPEN #teachershelpingteachers.
Something unusual about you: I still play competitive roller derby

What are you passionate about? Being a positive role model, Writing.
What do you hope to accomplish in the next year? Continue to provide useful and authentic learning experiences for my students.

Current or Past leadership Positions held: 2020 CAHPERD VP of PE, 2013 Elementary Physical Education Workshop Director.
What are you passionate about? Movies, My Oakland Teams, Superman, and my Students.
What do you hope to accomplish in the next year? My three goals for 2019-2020 in no particular order: I want to travel to Australia/NZ, I want to promote and advocate for quality physical education, and I want to keynote a conference sometime in the next 12-18 months.
Something unusual about you: I spent 10 years of my life working at Blockbuster until I was “laid off” when every store near me was closed.
